The Centre Pompidou presents for the first time in France an exhibition dedicated to the artist Mona Hatoum.

Mona Hatoum is an artist of Palestinian origin who, since 1975, is forced by the outbreak of civil war in his country of origin to a forced exile in London.

The exhibition brings together the works produced by the artist between 1983 and 1994, to retrace her artistic growth path. All her works represent an open denunciation and a reflection on the political and social difficult situations in which minorities of all sorts are intended. The three-dimensional and made with different materials installations tell a situation of discomfort and weakness that affect the entire planet.

Looking at the works from a chronological point of view of realization, it is possible to understand as the passage of time has made the personal feeling of the artist closer to the feeling of a community of which she still feels part.
