The first opening of an Hermès store in Hollywood was established in 1972. Forty years later, the giant of the fashion reinvents his shop at 434 North Rodeo Drive to adhere perfectly to the modernist design of Los Angeles. The biggest challenge entrusted to Danis of Montel RDAI, designer for a long time partner of the fashion house, was to completely rethink the store without changing the existing spaces.
The new version of the historic shop is crossed by abstract forms and recessed windows that allow better lighting. A sculptural staircase from the wavy movements in the heart of the exhibition space connects all four floors. But the biggest revolution concerns the external facade of the store that abandons the traditional beige stone order to put on white Carrara marble on which is reflected in an almost manner blinding the Californian sun.
Inside the store could not miss a print designed by Benoit Pierre Emery, artistic director of objects and pottery, which in an typically Californian image depicting the bottom of a pool with rippled water, on which are reflected shadows of palm trees and stands the historic brand Hermès.
