Maurizio Nannucci one of the major artistic experimentalists in the field of concrete poetry, fluxus and conceptual. His work is aimed at finding a complex mix of art, language, images and multimedia. In its constant search for a relationship between words, writing, shapes and colors are involved a long series of media: from photography to sound, neon-to videos.
In 1967 Nannucci realizes "Alfabetofonetico", a collection of texts in neon investigating a new relationship between words, meanings and space. The artist uses colored tubes that have the effect of sharpening the visual perception of words. The viewer is led to a deeper interpretation of the language through the spatial context.
The artistic process started in the mid-sixties by Nannucci is, by himself, defined knowledge and aesthetic research and the results are documented and collected inside the work-in-progress "Anthology" (1967/2013). The color, the light and the words are not confined to a concrete analysis of reality, but they push the overcoming of the models past and present opening a passage to the future.
A testimony to the strong connection that his works have with architecture, space and urban landscape, in the early 90s, Nannucci began working with architects As Fritz Auer, Mario Botta, Massimiliano Fuksas and Renzo Piano in implementing projects for public buildings. His works are part of renowned international collections such as the Guggenheim, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the CNAP in Paris, and he has also participated in several editions of the Venice Biennale, Sao Paulo, Sydney, Istanbul and Valencia.
