The Fellah Hotel, located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and classified as a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, is the perfect opportunity to get away from the busy western world. The philosophy which is at the basis of the project is encourage the discovery of Moroccan contemporary art and accost cultures and worlds different.
This hotel was built in an old typical village, a group of mud-colored buildings surrounded by lush gardens of palms and olive trees. The hotel also houses the Dar al-Ma'mun, an art international center borned to promuore emerging Arabs and Moroccans artists which was founded with the belief that the diffusion of cultural identity represents reason of personal and social development.
For each of the sixty-nine rooms for guests of Fellah has been studied a special design in minimalist style. The goal is create a place that not reflects the widespread fantasies about the Middle Eastern world but that proposes the peculiarity of the Moroccan rural heritage, without thereby sacrifice any comfort.
To fully respect the proposed values, the creators of the Fellah Hotel, a young French couple, but of North African origin, has decided to rely on local forces, both for what concerns the construction of the building and the management of the hotel.
