
Thousands of bicycles occupy Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. The work of the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei's Forever Bicycles, come back in a new location after its first presentation at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum in 2011. The first structure was made up of a thousand bicycles, while the current takes life from the methodical intersection of 3,144 bikes.



Through this unique and labyrinthine work that until the end of October will occupy the place of the American city, the artist wants to express his vision for Chinese society and international, in continuous and rapid development. The work will also be presented between contemporary art projects during the annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche festival.


At nightfall, the corridors created by the special structure are illuminated with shades of red and blue that meeting the chrome bikes make it even more attractive.
