Transformations is a collection of furniture commissioned by the fashion house Fendi to Maarten De Ceulaer. The project presented for the first time at Art Basel Miami reinterprets the craftsmanship of the brand through the use of leather, which becomes the main theme of the works.

The designer uses leather strips that join in interlocking and remind the Pequin pattern, used by the fashion house for luggage and leather goods. From the encounter of the soft leather with boards and logs of wood are born the soft planks.

The geometric and abstract shapes of the furniture are inspired by Futurism, Bauhaus and Art Deco. Transformations explores the limits between hard and soft, luxurious and fashionable, natural and artificial. Palettes of lacquered wood and leather strips are transformed into eye-catching multicolored compositions to create an environment that becomes a way of life and recalls the early years of Modernism.
