Eli & Edythe Art Museum, colloquially called The Broad, is a contemporary art museum located in the state of Michigan. After the donation of Eli Broad and his wife, to whom the museum is named, have been put up a competition to entrust the building projec; Zaha Hadid, internationally renowned architect, has won.
The sharp and angular volumes of the facade of the museum were made??, following a careful study of the topography and of the road lines that surround it, as to form a network of perspective axes. The facades are made ??of stainless steel clearly in conflict with the surrounding buildings, made ??according to the neo-Gothic architecture.
The Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum is dedicated to contemporary art.
Aim of the exhibition is the exploration of global cultural trends and their classifications in the historical sense of art.
