Mariko Mori, internationally renowned artist from the mid-90s, of Japanese descent, but that has always divided his time between London and New York, presents Rebirth, a thoughtful and engaging exhibition hosted from February 8 to June 29, 2015 from Art Gallery of Western Australia in Perth.
The themes of life, death and rebirth are explored with installations, sculptures, led, drawings and videos. Mori's artistic research aims to inspire a new consciousness in his public and celebrate the balance between nature and human being.
The artist's works arise from a complex intermingling of Eastern and Western tradition and contemporary. His particular aesthetic languages derive from contamination between traditional tea ceremonies and computer culture, Buddhism and Shintoism. Emerging technologies and digital media are the tool of expression of the holistic and cyclical life view that Mariko Mori has of the world.
