The project of the architect internationally renowned
which continues the relationship established with the gallery in 2000
following the commission of the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, consists
in the renovation of The Magazine, a former store of gunpowder. From
this autumn the Serpentine Gallery's exhibition program will take
place at both locations with a vast project for events and
exhibitions.

The structure was designed as a meeting place of two
separate but complementary: a marquee specially made alongside a
brick structure of the nineteenth century fully restored. The
structure of fiberglass surrounding the brick building, originally
home of The Magazine, takes a square shape and defines a colonnade in
front of the entrance from the neo-classical character. The interiors
have also been involved in the renovation project of Hadid although
although he sought to keep as close as possible to the original
division of the spaces.
