The Blue Planet Aquarium is the new Danish national aquarium. Designed by 3XN, the largest and most modern aquarium in Northern Europe tries to lead, through architecture, its visitors through the deepest abysses. The shapes of the building are inspired by the shapes of waves, water courses and shoals of fish.

Located on the hill north of Kastrup Harbor, The Blue Planet is placed in a position of connection between the earth and the sea, rising right next to the water. The building's façade is covered with aluminum plates shaped diamond, just as the water in front, reflect the light and colors of the sky adapting to the changing forms of nature and the surrounding landscape.

In line with the leitmotiv of the water flows, visitors enter the building through a first and long vortex that leads them towards the inside and the center point around which to develop the reproductions of habitat for river, lake and sea. Each exhibition is accompanied by background music and images that help to create the right atmosphere.
