The name of this exhibition is suggested by domus musae, from the Latin "home of the Muses"; the subject is given by a representative collection of cultural buildings of Spanish history, some more ancient and other more recent. The curators Jesús Aparicio and Jesús Donaire have set up the show ended in March of 2011 in the Salón de Reinos, previously Museum of Army in Madrid.
The availability of a historic space of this kind has made possible revisiting the original architecture that becomes functional to exposure and the creation of a path through the building itself underlined by means of a continuous white flooring that acts as a guide for visitors starting and ending outside the building.
Among the authors of the materials collected in the form of photographs, documents, interviews and audiovisual services, there are masters of contemporary Spanish architecture and architects of other generation. The combination of content retrieved and others created especially for the occasion ensures quality and continuity of this innovative effort. The goal is not affecting original architecture and design of the building, but give it back new charm through the recovery and re-examination of its origins.
