The Tate Modern in London doubles its space. The Swiss firm Herzog and de Meuron, that AT the beginning of 2000 had followed the conversion of the former power station in the largest contemporary art museum in the world, has been entrusted to treat the extension project.
Four new floors of exhibition galleries, two floors dedicated to educational activities and events and a roof terrace have been created inside the Switch House, a red brick complex on Bankside adjacent to the landmark building with chimney overlooking the River Thames.
