Marina Apollonio is an Italian artist considered one of the greatest exponents of the optical-kinetic movement in the international scene. After his debut with the participation in the collective exhibition at the Art Center il Chiodo in Palermo, comes in contact with the Group N in Padua and the Group T in Milan with whom she shares the choices of materials and research.

She uses industrial and modern materials to create structures that in the vision of the spectator creates dynamic and waved spaces. His art is opposed to the concept of expressive attraction sharing fully the desire to create works depersonalized own of many members of the Optical Art.

The communication of specific messages in a visual way leds Marina Apollonio to the creation of works where orthogonal colored vertical and horizontal lines intersect on a black background. After choosing a form, such as the circle, the artist, studies its structural features to make it active and compares the correspondence to a mathematical model without contamination with subjective elements.
