High Line The Standard Hotel, part of the worldwide chain owned by André Balazs, rises above the High Line, the former railway line that ran on Manhattan West Side, now converted into a raised park.

The building has a concave shape and overhangs the park balancing on a structure similar to that of a palafitte. The interiors are perfectly suited to the dominant trend of Meatpacking District, neighborhood of art and fashion in which it is located.

The retro and futuristic style are perfectly mixed with an homage to mid-century scandinavian design to create an utopian and at times surreal ambience. Many of the 338 rooms, spread over eighteen floors, offer a unique view of the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline.
