Villa Isla Blanca is located in a heavenly space that the island of
Ibiza reserves away from the hustle and night life for which he is well
known. This pearl of the Balearic Islands, reachable only by land,
offers a breathtaking scenary, mingling between the Mediterranean
landscape and the architecture of the 80s. Each element of the structure
is aimed at enhancing the landscape, to allow the contemplation of the
sun and the horizon in an atmosphere of complete solitude.
The furnishings are
the result of combinations made with almost maniacal care between French
and Scandinavian design objects and furniture designed specifically for
this environment. In one of the bedrooms, Navettes, ceramic murals by
Georges Jouve, dominates a bed born to this ambience. In the living room,
on a table of 1950 by George Nakashima are placed ceramics created in
2010 by Emmanuel Boos.
The white and geometric structure fits perfectly between the rocks.
Sensuality and luxury of the interior seem to converse in any space with
the beauty and sophistication of the Mediterranean. The luxury, created
with games between precious materials, is omnipresent but never
ostentatious. Marble, stone and wood complete the walls and floors and
host vintage-style furniture.
Luis Laplace, architect and designer of VIlla Isla Blanca, native of
Argentina, declares himself at service of contemporary architecture.
Inspired by the South American architecture and by Brutalist movement,
he doesn't spare the inclusion of dramatic effects that break the rigor.
Among
the countless projects, of particular importance is the center of
contemporary art Durslade in Somerset, sponsored by the art gallery
Hauser and Wirth.
