From 1st March to 8th July the Gallery Thaddaeus Ropac hosts Second Body, an exhibition of sculptures by Antony Gormley. The central issues on which the artist's research develops are the body and the space, the body becomes a space and the first element conditioner architecture of the space itself.

Dimensions and volumes of the gallery space, of which the exhibition spaces are derived from the restructuring of the former foundry, are exploited to create in the viewer a kind of disorientation that invites to self observation. The first exhibition space is occupied by Hole, work which rationalises relationship between the human body and habitat. The same idea as transmutation of the human anatomy is taken from the second work: Expansion Field.

In the broader exhibition space the viewer is surrounded by a forest which looked totemic in which emotions are evoked ranging from resistance to delirium. The final work is Matrix II, three-dimensional architecture that identifies a multitude of volumes of interconnection around a blank inquiring about the form and structure of the human habitat.
