The structure by Sou Fujimoto is inspired by organic structures such as the forest, their nests and caves. The installation designed as a dense three-dimensional network structure has a light and translucent that allows the fusion with the landscape.

The space is designed as a multifunctional structure, equipped with two entrances and wide staircases designed as seating for the spectators who are invited to interact with it and to explore it in different ways. Fujimoto is the third Japanese architect after Sejima and Nishizawa of the study NASAA to provide a design for the Serpentine Gallery Pavilon.
