Arnout Meijer is a twenty-five designers whose passion is the use of light as an immaterial way to shape material forms. His latest series of works is entitled Thanks for the Planets; four separate objects in a limited edition make up the series that explores the effects that light can have on the human perception.

The lamps designed by Arnout Meijer are formed by one outside and one inside rows of LED that can be adjusted with a slider to turn bright white in warm colors such as yellow and red, the light is then refracted by acrylic surfaces and trapped in well-defined lines.
With his latest series of works, the light-designer wanted to show how the light will suit different roles: the white light promotes concentration to work while warmer tones are the most relaxing and facilitate sleep. The design of the lamps was not designed starting from the traditional material elements that make up the object, but by the power of light itself.
