The MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) of Cleveland has been designed by the architect of Iranian origin, currently living in London, Farshid Moussavi, previously employed at the Foreign Office Architects (FOA) and now owner of Farshid Moussavi Architecture (FMA). The MOCA is his first job in the United States and its first museum.

The building design fully reflects the philosophy of the museum is not only to be an exhibition space, the spaces host, in fact, constantly different activities. The project is based on a key concept of cultural, aesthetic and mental flexibility.

The hexagonal base of the building seems to be moving upward to turn into a square cover. The facades are covered with reflective metal, this allows to the building to change appearance depending on the light and the weather, acting as a a mirror of the city. Three other facades are made ??of transparent glass and allow a view from outside of the central plaza designed by James Corner Field Operations, New Yorker signature of urban architecture.
