The design Hotel Parco dei Principi stands on the most charming and unspoiled part of the Sorrento Peninsula and is located on a hill overlooking the magnificant Gulf of Naples. Exclusive lines and shapes, perfect color games, meticulous furnishings, were designed by famous architect Giò Ponti, who creates the first 60es "design hotel". Each enviroment has remained untouched: all interiors are original, majolica, ceramics, flooring, inviolated outdoor spaces and terrace that serves as backdrop to the stage where an incomparable nature and sea are alternated.
In the walls and furnishing of design-hotel in Sorrento is trapped the
architect's ecletic genius. In his works, from the outset, has merged
classicism and modernity, tradition and innovation, craftmanship and
industry. Blue and white excel in the entire hotel, every detail is
designed in this alternation. Also for the hundred floors, designed by
Giò Ponti, each of which characterize a single room in the hotel, blue
and white are the only colors.
Ubiquitous concept in the philosophy of Giò Ponti is the versatility of the space. The areas of reduced size are optically reinvented with the use of deep prospettive and functional furnishings for the purpose. The rooms change appearance without sacrificing functionality. The emphasis is on the architecture but the furniture are specially designed to be part of it.
The Parco dei Principi, since june 2012, is not only an unusual and
wonderful design hotel, but also a place where admire and appreciate Giò
Ponti's works, thanks to the new permanent museum: a trail-exhibition
designed for anyone who wants to approach this world of design art.
